SEO Professionals Shouldn’t Be Afraid To Leave Money On The Table
Let’s face it.
There are more than a few salespeople out there who don’t like leaving money on the table. They don’t like the idea so much that they’ll actually break into hives at the thought of it.
In the world of Search Engine Optimization, there are all sorts of things you can spend money on. Buying links on premium websites, having writers put together articles for you to submit to article directories, paying bloggers to write about your business, creating viral content that generates natural buzz and links - all those things cost money, and they all have their place in a SEO strategy.
For many smaller Omaha businesses, there’s no need to spend huge amounts of money to get very good rankings on the search engines for whatever you’re selling. Researching the competition and knowing what keywords to work on will, in 9 out of 10 cases, get you into position to capitalize on your smaller market niche.
Once you’ve seen what your competition is doing in the online arena, and once you have a good strategy mapped out for your own website that takes your competition into consideration, it often doesn’t take a whole lot of money to achieve your goals. After all, if you’ve got a gas station sitting all by itself on a highway that’s going through the middle of a desert, there’s no point in paying money for a really huge billboard every 10 miles now, is there?
Many larger SEO firms actually charge according to what their customer can pay. They’re quite good at assessing a potential client’s resources and won’t hesitate to charge what they think the market will bear. And, in all honesty, many of the larger SEO firms do a very good job for their clients.
Of course they always manage to have just one more thing to sell to their customers…which has always annoyed me.
Personally, I’d rather have happy customers who will use my services more and more over a longer period of time as their online business grows.
I’d rather have customers who are happy with what I’ve done for them and love to tell their friends about it.
